One of the very basic secrets of effective leadership is to give the impression of confidence and purpose.  If this impression is not based on a foundation of truth, that leader’s true character will become known soon enough.  But even if new to a group or without experience, if you project confidence and articulate a clear purpose and vision, you will quickly be accepted as a leader.  Most people want to follow and will follow you if you show you know where you are going.  Will you lead?
