“Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise, so I am changing myself.”

~Rumi

It is a level of maturity and wisdom that few reach:  the understanding that to change the world, our community, our workplace, or even our family dynamic, we must begin with ourselves.  If you find yourself frustrated by your inability to influence other’s behaviors or opinions, reflect inwardly and find those aspects of yourself that must first change to increase your ability to influence others.  Your beliefs, attitudes, and behaviors are the only ones that you truly have control over.
