“People who are always taking care of their health are like misers who are hoarding a treasure which they have never spirit enough to enjoy.”

 ~Laurence Sterne

About once each month, I like to share fun holidays from Holiday Insights.  May 6th is home to two excellent holidays you simply must take advantage of:  National Beverage Day and International No Diet Day

From Holiday Insights:

Beverage Day is a chance to kick back with your favorite beverage and enjoy the day. The term “beverage” is broadly defined. So, were talking about celebrating all beverages today.   Beverage Day should be a day of pleasure and relaxation.  Grab a bottle, can, a glass, or a six-pack of your favorite beverage. Sit down in a comfortable chair….. indoors or out. Slowly sip and savor your drink. Life is good!

International No Diet Day encourages us to appreciate the bodies we have. You could consider it a “Big” backlash against becoming little (err thin), people. This day is intended for us to appreciate the body we have. It encourages us to recognize that people come in all shapes and sizes……. and that’s okay.  International No Diet Day is a good opportunity to reassess and evaluate your weight management goals and perspective, and to make certain your efforts to be thin don’t come at a risk to your health. If you decide that continuing your diet is right for you, then use today to take a one day break.

Your assignment:  Go to a GREAT restaurant with a favorite companion; order a fun cocktail, an appetizer you’ve never tried, an incredible main course, and a nice bottle of wine.  Finish with the gooey chocolate dessert and a cappuccino or a glass of port.  YUM!!  I love May 6th!!!  While healthy pursuits are admirable, don’t forget once in awhile to indulge in the pleasures of a wonderful meal of delicious foods and drinks.
