“A great many people think they are thinking when they are merely rearranging their prejudices.”

~William James

I find nothing more annoying than those people who refuse to recognize and entertain alternative points of view.  They are incapable of an interesting discussion due to their stubborn adherence to their own prejudices.  The mark of great character is the ability to engage in a thoughtful debate without fear of losing one’s values.  There really are very few ultimate truths.  The rest are subject to variation, and appreciation of these possibilities provides life with richness and meaning.
