While being agile and acting in the moment is an important attribute, the key is to be ready when the time comes to act.  This stems from purposeful preparation:  thinking about potential challenges and opportunities to come and the skills you will need to face them, determining how to gain those skills, and then practice, practice, practice…  So that you are ready when the time comes.
