“I am not a product of my circumstances. I am a product of my decisions.”

Too often, people define themselves by their circumstances.  The reality is who you are and who you will be is primarily the sum of the decisions that you have made and the decisions you will make in the future.  Even when things happen completely out of your control, you always have the power to decide your reaction to these circumstances.  Don’t wallow in negative emotions on what has “happened to you”, nor should you take for granted the positive situations you find yourself in.  Decide in each moment the person you want to be and then act in a manner that reflects your decision.
Live life in a constant and intentional mode of awareness and learning, and a decision to be the person you aspire to be.  Honest, loving, caring, giving, confident, courageous, humble. Take from this list and add your own adjectives that describe the person you aspire to be.  Use every circumstance to decide in that moment to be that person.  Then act as though you are that person.
Life is a process of becoming.  Decide your direction and who you will become, take actions congruent with that decision, and enjoy the journey!
