“Happiness is like a butterfly which, when pursued, is always beyond our grasp, but, if you will sit down quietly, may alight upon you.”

~Nathaniel Hawthorne

From JAMmer HO:

I was reading an essay on happiness…something that seems to elude me at times…and came upon the above quote and the next:

“Happiness consists more in small conveniences of pleasures that occur every day, than in great pieces of good fortune that happen but seldom to a man in the course of his life.”  ~Ben Franklin

(Ben didn’t know about lotteries where we waste our dollars hoping on the big win along with several hundred thousand other suckers.)
