“The only people with whom you should try to get even are those who have helped you.”

So much time and energy are wasted by so many on trying to “get even” for perceived slights by others. This is a tragic waste of talent. The only actions we should take to match the actions of another, is when we have been helped in some way. “Getting even” is then a beautiful thing.
If you are for any reason contemplating how you can get back at someone for something negative they did or did not do to you, STOP. Instead, spend your time reflecting first on that person’s situation that may have led them to a poor decision. How might you help? Forgive, provide any help you can, and move on to focusing on how you can help others.
