“Ignore people who threaten your joy. Literally, ignore them. Say nothing. Don’t invite any parts of them into your space.”

We are bombarded daily with well-meaning and not-so-well-meaning people seeking to advise us and/or control our thoughts and behaviors.  This “input” comes from friends, family members, colleagues, and the ever-present media via TV, radio, the internet and of course our smart phones!  Much of this input is positive and welcome, especially if we control where the input originates.  If you are being intentional about ensuring your sources are constructive, keep yourself open to this input and feedback as it will help guide you to stay on track.  However, if you are not intentional the input you receive is likely to be negative and possibly damaging.  Take control over who and what has access to your attention.  Banish the negative people.  Remove yourself from negative or controlling media, websites, social media “friends”, etc.  As the quote states:  “Ignore people who threaten your joy”.
