“A happy person is not a person in a certain set of circumstances, but rather a person with a certain set of attitudes”.

~Hugh Downs

This is an often repeated but necessary lesson:  You will never achieve happiness by trying to create happy circumstances via wealth, relationships, or location.  Your happiness comes from the effort to achieve, the effort to help others, and most importantly the attitudes you take with the circumstances you face.  You can only control some of what happens to you.  But you can control almost all of your reaction and attitudes.
