“I am an optimist. I choose to be. There is a lot of darkness in our world, there is a lot of pain and you can either choose to see that or you can choose to see the joy. If you try to respond positively to the world, you’ll spend your time better.”

~Tom Hiddleston

Every situation, yes every situation, gives us an opportunity to exercise our power.  We have the power to use a lens of positivity, of hope, of gratitude.  Or, we can choose to use the lens of negativity, of fear, of dismissiveness.  The power, the choice, is ours to make – always.  There is no question that there are horrors and pain in our world.  But to choose to only look at the world with expectations of horror and pain is to deprive ourselves the joy and energy achieved when focusing on the extraordinary goodness in people, and the potential of every moment.  It is not about ignoring the challenges in the world.  It is about the choice to acknowledge these elements and to focus on the positive.  Choose wisely.
